Audible is an Amazon company, which means customers have access to over 200,000 titles with this app. There is also a huge selection of podcasts available.
The basic Audible membership is $14.99 per month, although you can pay $149 for the year. This will get you one free audiobook per month from the regular selection, which you can download and keep across multiple devices. Membership also gets you two free Audible Originals per month.
You can also have top US newspapers delivered to your device too.
You even have a few choices for how you listen to audiobooks. You can play through any Alexa device, or you can even switch back and forth between the eBook and audio versions of a book. Take note, you will need to purchase the eBook version and the audio version of the book. My favorite part of this app is a clever technology known as Whispersync For Voice. Let’s say I am listening to a book at the gym on my phone via the iPhone app, then when I am home later that evening, I can pick up my Kindle Oaasis, it automatically finds my place in the book so I can continue reading.
