If you're tired of dealing with some of life's trivial tasks on a daily basis, there are a variety of tools available to help.  Among them is "If This Then That," better known online as IFTTT.

Found at ifttt.com, this free service allows you to combine a different technologies together to perform a certain task.

What does that mean and how does it work?  At ifttt.com, technologies are categorized into channels, and the combination of channels create recipes.  So for example, the Android Location Channel is a channel that can use the GPS in an Android phone or tablet.  Additionally, the Philips Hue Channel is a channel that supports Philips Hue lighting fixtures.  A recipe would combine the two channels.  So a recipe may be:  When I am near home turn on my living room lights.  The best part is that this happens automatically after setting the recipe at ifttt.com.  Just drive home after a long day of work and your GPS will trigger the recipe automatically to turn on your lights in your living room!

Sound complicated?  The good news is that it really isn't!  While you can freely create your own recipes which is easy to do, there are plenty of pre-built recipes to start using immediately with a few mouse clicks.  There are countless channels to benefit from including Office 365, Dropbox, Linkedin, Evernote, Facebook, Fiverr, Best Buy, WeMo, Craigslist, Google, ESPN, iOS, and Spotify.
