WannaCry Ransomware – The Good and the Bad – Update, Monday 10:00 PM

Well, I hope you made it safely through the day.  Tens of thousands of Windows users in the US didn't.

Here’s what we now know. We are finally getting more information on how the WannaCry virus attacks and how it spreads.

The Bad News: The WannaCry attack has hit the US pretty hard (see the attached map). World-wide there have been 102,000 new infections in the last 24 hours.

WannaCry Ransomware FBI Update

The FBI has released an official alert on the "WannaCry" Ransomware outbreak.
They have confirmed that there have been tens of thousands of WannaCry ransomware infections world-wide and that it has also hit the United States.

According to the FBI, "Initial reports indicate the hacker or hacking group behind the WannaCry campaign is gaining access to enterprise servers either through Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) compromise or through the exploitation of a critical Windows.
