The concept of storing files in the cloud for use on multiple devices isn’t new, but with the latest version of Adobe’s Acrobat Reader it’s become a little easier.

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (DC stands for Document Cloud) allows you to open recently viewed PDF files on any of your devices that has an Adobe Acrobat DC product installed. This includes not only your computer, but mobile devices as well that are iOS, Android, and Windows based. You no longer need to copy PDFs from device to device, or use a 3rd party cloud service to retrieve your PDF files. Simply open a PDF on one device from any location and it will automatically be available on another.

How does it work?

It’s called Mobile Link. Within Acrobat (on each device), simply set Mobile Link to “On” and your recently viewed PDFs will be available across these devices.

The cost?

An Adobe online account is needed for the behind-the-scenes magic to happen. Acrobat Reader DC is free software as are the mobile Apps. Full versions of Acrobat DC which allow full featured editing are available as subscriptions.
